Cinematic moments from the Carpini screenplay
In this second act scene, Carpini's unworldly young companion Brother Stephen has been sent into the backstreets of Constantinople to find Antonio Polo.
Polo was recommended to them by King Baldwin as an experienced trader who can help arrange the logistics for the Monks arduous journey to the East.
Unfortunately Stephen gets lost and is waylaid by Pashmina, an experienced Hooker-with-a-Heart, who persuades Stephen that her shady Uncle Voltan can help them instead.
It's intended to be a bit of light relief in the script so the actors dubbed it: Carry on Constantinople!
This clip was directed by David Dixon, acted by Ally Cox and Mike Sani and produced at Bournemouth University as part of my MA course.
